Mandatory Entry Field

Meaning – The term mandatory entry field, refers to a field in which a user must enter at least one character. Informally, a required field is an input field on a form that must have a non-blank value to be valid. Conventionally, many flow action forms mark a required field with an orange asterisk ( ).

Usually, a mandatory entry field is used in online forms wherein some of the information required from the user is non-negotiable and will not even be submitted unless the user enters the required data.

Example of usage“When she was designing the online subscription form for the organization, she was instructed to make all the field in the form, into mandatory entry fields, so that the users provide the details that the organization required for their reference purposes.”
