Input Field

Meaning – The term input field, refers to the section within the operating system or a software package, where the user can enter some data or values, as per the context or the requirement of the corresponding OS or tool.

In computer graphics, an unprotected field on a display surface in which data can be entered, modified, or erased.

It is also defined as a field in a display file into which a user can key in data. An input field is passed from the device to the program when the program reads the record containing that field.
