Meaning – The term input field, refers to the section within the operating system or a software package, where the user can enter some data or values, as per the context or the requirement of the corresponding OS or tool.
In computer graphics, an unprotected field on a display surface in which data can be entered, modified, or erased.
It is also defined as a field in a display file into which a user can key in data. An input field is passed from the device to the program when the program reads the record containing that field.
Example of usage – “When developers are creating the input fields within their apps or software package, they have to ensure that the input field can accommodate the required data that the user will eventually enter. At the same time, it must look distinctive and easy to recognize among the other graphic elements within the software or app.”
