Usually, in design software, the cursoris used to position the different design elements. Through the process, it may so happen that the designer may forget the position of the cursor, and this can lead to a lot of confusion. To help the designer out, the tool helps him/her use a key combination to bring the cursor back to the center of the workspace so that the designer can work up from there.
This position is known as the home position, and it is one of the most useful features in a software package.
Example of usage – “The designer lost track of the cursor position and decided to bring it back to the home position in order to start working from there again.”
