In the context of programming, the term hello may refer to the hello world program that coders usually write when they are starting off with a new programming language, in order to test out the basic syntax of the new language.
When the programmer executes a hello world program, the screen displays the message “hello world”, on the display. This indicates that the code is error-free.
Example of usage – “When he decided to study the new, recently launched programming language, the first thing he did after his beginner lesson, was to write a hello world program to see if he had understood the basic syntax. Fortunately for him, the output showed up and he could move on to the next lesson.”
