Meaning – The term hard error, refers to the error condition on a network that requires that the network be reconfigured or that the source of the error be removed before the network can resume reliable operation.
The hard error also refers to the error or hardware fault causing failure of a program or operating system, especially one that gives no option of recovery.
When a system encounters a hard error, there is usually no way out of the situation, and the only way to fix the problem is to replace the malfunctioning component.
