Flip Chart

Meaning – The term flip chart refers to the piece of paper used for drawing charts as a presentation aid. Once especially favored for formal presentations at IBM headquarters locations, flip charts have been generally superseded by foils, slides, PCs and projection displays.

A flip chart is typically fixed to the upper edge of a whiteboard, or supported on a tripod or four-legged easel. Such charts are commonly used for presentations. Scientists have also developed a digital flip chart, that can write word for word, everything that is dictated to it. People who have lost arms due to some circumstances have commented that this digital flip chart has really he;ped them overcome the dificulties they have in note taking.

Example of usage“The flipchart we know was invented by Peter Kent in the 1970s. Peter Kent was the founder and CEO of the visual communications group Nobo plc, and it is believed that they were the first company to put the large pieces of paper over whiteboards, rather than over other materials.”
