Meaning – An error log is a list or a document that contains details on all the errors that have been encountered by an application or the system as a whole, since its first boot or installation.
SOftware is never a perfect entity and is prone to facing some bugs or glitches over time. The developers create an error log that basically records the kind of error that occurs, the reason for it, and the effect it has had on the system or the application.
The error log is then studied while developing upgrades or bug fixes for the OS or application.
Example of usage – “The application was launched and kept intact on the app store for six months to see the general performance. At the end of the term, the developers studied the error log that had been compiled to start working on the necessary fixes.”
