Dump

Meaning – The word dump, in the context of computing, refers to the collection or the recitation of all the available data pertaining to a certain topic, assignment, or project.

Usually, when there is a large code that needs to be debugged, the head of the project asks the coders to dump all the data related to the code, into a designated storage device, which makes it easy for the right personnel to analyze and debug the code, easily and systematically.

The word dump also refers to the process of copying data in a readable format, from the main or auxiliary storage, onto an external medium, such as a tape, diskette, or printer.

Example of usage“As the programmer was facing unknown issues in the code, he dumped the code and all the related data on the designated drive, so that his superiors could help him debug the same.”
