Meaning – One of the most commonly used actions within the Graphical user interface (GUI), of a computer or mobile operating system, is the drag and drop.
The drag and drop action is used to move certain content ton the desktop or mobile screen, from one location to another location.
This action is performed using the cursor that is controlled using an input device such as a mouse or a joystick. This action involves the direct interaction between the cursor and the item to be move. Indirect movement is not considered as a drag and drop.
The drag and drop action can be performed on the PC as well as mobile devices.
Example of usage – “Since the file was supposed to be in the design folder, she dragged and dropped it from the desktop to the folder, using the mouse.”
