Meaning – The phrase ‘Done deal’, refers to an agreement that has been made official and irreversible. Usually, when two people or organisations are negotiating over a contract, a point comes where the terms are agreeable to all the concerned parties, and at this point, they consider the transaction or discussions to be a ‘done deal’ ,as there is no chance of a reversal after this point.
The phrase ‘done deal’ is also used to indicate the completion of a successful negotiation, with the outcome imminent.
One more way of describing the phrase ‘done deal’, is a plan or project that has been completed or arranged and that cannot now be changed.
Example of usage – “She was told that the terms of the contract were open for negotiations, but the moment she signed the contract, the whole transaction was a done deal.”
