Meaning – In the context of computing, a dialog is the conversation that takes place between a user and the computer. The computers today, feature a GUI element, known as a dialog box, that presents conversation style questions or comments to the user, and while sometimes, it is something that the user can only read, other times, the dialog box contains a text entry box, where the user can type in his/her response.
The concept of a dialog between the user and the computer, has been evolving, with computers today, able to comprehend audio inputs that the users give to a dialog box that is displayed on the desktop.
Example of usage – “The users who upgraded to the new version of the computer OS, allowed them to have a dialog with their computer, by simply speaking to it.”
