Data Check

Meaning – A data check is he process of checking or testing the data, to determine its quality, integrity and authenticity. In case fo an organisation, there is a lot of data being processed used for various tasks within and outside the organisation. It is important that only the right data is being used for these tasks, as low quality data or data with no authenticity can adversely affect the outcome of the task or analysis.

When people analyse a data set, the first thing they do is check whether the data within the set is of high quality, relevant, and most importantly, authentic.

A data check also refers to the synchronous or asynchronous indication of a condition caused by invalid data or incorrect positioning of data. Some data checks can be suppressed.

Example of usage “The employee was tasked with analysis the new data sets for integrity, quality and authenticity, before it is approved for organisational use.”
