Data Channel

Meaning – A data channel, is the part used to transfer data from one device to another device. When an interface possesses multiple channels that run parallel, each channel is assigned to a certain kind of data, for quick and seamless transfer.

The data channel is a bidirectional path found between the input and output devices, with the computer permitting one or more of these channels to operate concurrently.

Generally, the data is transmitted suing hardware components such as wires and cables of varying lengths and specifications. Some offer transfer of data at low speeds, while some offer very high speed data transfer.

Example of usage“The organisation had to overhaul the data channels as there were a lot of issues being encountered with data transfer between the input and output devices.”
