Meaning – The word configure, refers to the process of putting together, or assembling a computer system by arranging or connecting, a selected specific set of components that consist of both, hardware and software.
The process of configuring a computer system starts with the identification of the hardware and software components, making sure they are compatible with each other (on paper), arranging for the components and finally bringing them all together and firing them up for a test run. If the system works as expected, the configured computer system is considered to be complete. Sometimes, the process of configuring requires multiple iterations, as several new components are released into the market very often.
