Meaning – The phrase change management, or more commonly known as software management, is the process of controlling and overseeing the whole software distribution cycle. In this, the employee or group responsible have to devise a process of planning (for example, scheduling) and controlling (for example, distributing, installing, and tracking) software changes over a network.
This is a process that requires accuracy above anything else, and as such, an individual who wants to do this for a living, is expected to have in depth knowledge about the whole software development cycle, as well as hold management skills that can help him/her overcome challenges that may appear while performing the aforementioned tasks.
Example of usage – “After joining the new organisation, she was eventually assigned to the change management division, due to her immense knowledge of the software development and distribution cycles.”
