Meaning – The term build to plan, refers to then act of constructing a hardware, based on a detailed plan submitted by the customer. In this, the vendor offers a list of customisations that are possible, and the end user takes these points and comes up with a detailed plan and checklist of their expectations and the components that they like. Following this, the vendor, examines the plan, prepares a time frame and builds the hardware device around the expectations of the individual user.
This process involves both, the vendor and customer in equal proportions, where the customer has to make the plan, and the vendor has to bring that plan to life.
