Meaning – Boca is a short form representation of the city of Boca Raton, Florida, which is the birthplace of the IBM PC. You will usually see the word Boca, used by a lot of IBMers, when they want to refer to this legendary location.
Incidentally, Boca Raton is also the favourite location for the business meetings that take place during the first financial quarter. What’s interesting to note, is that most of the important IBM buildings are actually situated in Delray Beach, not Boca Raton.
