Meaning – An active program with respect to computers, corresponds to a code or a part of a bigger code that is ready to be executed.
There may be projects that require a series of codes to be executed, and the programmers usually split this one big task into smaller tasks, and this gives rise to a number of smaller codes, that are later brought together to give the desired output.
Usually, the programmer deals with a single code at a time, and the code that is currently loaded and ready to be executed, is known as the active program.
An active program also corresponds to the code that is currently running.
Example of usage – “The programmer was instructed to demonstrate the active program”.
