AA (Administrative Assistant)

AA (Administrative Assistant)

Pronunciation – ay-ay

An administrative assistant is a person employed by an individual or an organization, tasked with carrying out background tasks such as arranging meetings and schedules, drafting and coordinating correspondence, assigning tasks, data entry, developing presentations, and handling a variety of other responsibilities.

This position must not be confused with that of an executive secretary, although there are cases where the lines between the two posts have been blurred.

The administrative assistant is also required to have specialized knowledge in some cases. The most common example of this is legal assistants. These types of assistants are required to have a thorough understanding of legal terminology and procedures. In a similar fashion, medical assistants need to be well versed in dealing with insurance companies and reading medical reports.

Example of word usage – “All the meetings was arranged by the Administrative Assistant”.
